Testimonials

Have you booked a Pep the Poet workshop or bought one of my poetry books? I’d love to hear about your experience. Your feedback helps other schools and families learn more about what I offer.

Highly recommend having Pep the Poet into school. He introduces the joy and fun of poetry to children in a way that keeps everyone entertained and laughing throughout the day. As a skilled teacher, Pep is able to get the very best out of the children and has left us all inspired.

We have loved working with Pep! He has done both staff development, whole class writing workshops and individually pupil mentoring with excellent impact. He is hilarious, humble and wise - what a combination! We look forward to seeing him lots more this academic year.

We had the pleasure of welcoming Pep the Poet to our primary school for a fantastic Poetry Day.

Pep focused on feelings, emotions and mental health, helping the children to understand that all feelings are important and that it is okay to talk about how we feel.

The children were captivated throughout the day and thoroughly enjoyed joining in with the poems and activities. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm, creativity and confidence grow as the day progressed.

The messages he shared were both age-appropriate and powerful, leaving the children with some valuable ideas and memories to take away.

Mrs Julie Allen, St Mary’s RC Primary, Wolverhampton

We loved having Pep visit our two schools.  The excitement, energy and enthusiasm he brought was brillaint! Thank you.

Mr Ashley Byrne, Assistant Headteacher, Sidney Stringer Primary, Coventry

Pep was charasmatic and supported our pupils to become enthusiastic about oracy and poetry. His playful nature and cheeky sense of humour engaged our children. He is a friendly and an overall knowledgeable gentleman. School felt like it really had quality and value for money from Pep's visit. Thank you

David (Pep) is one of life's gems. Fun, informal and engaging, but then packs a punch of timeless wisdom and pragmatic thought that can truly cut through the BS in any situation. His work around "fear tells lies" is great for business audiences or schools and he "really" cares about those he serves. Top bloke.

David Hyner, Motivational Speaker, Eccleshall, Staffs.

At our school, we believe that developing strong oracy skills, in particular learning to speak, listen and express ideas with confidence is just as vital as mastering written communication.

On National Poetry Day, our pupils had an unforgettable experience working with the incredible Pep the Poet. Pep brought poetry to life using rhyme, rhythm and plenty of interactive fun. It was inspiring to watch our students find their voices, grow in confidence, and proudly share their creative ideas out loud.

A massive thank you to Pep for delivering such vibrant, engaging and memorable sessions!

Sophia Mulrooney, Headteacher, St. Patricks’s RC Primary, Wednesfield, Wolverhampton

Pep the Poet visited Chaselea Alternative Provision Academy recently to deliver a creative poetry workshop, and I cannot recommend him highly enough.

His warm, encouraging style immediately built trust and he created a safe space where every young person felt confident to share ideas.

The highlight was seeing our learners go from feeling unsure about writing poetry to proudly sharing their own creations by the end of the session.

Pep is not only incredibly talented and knowledgeable, but he also has a special gift for connecting with alternative provision learners.

He understood our students needs perfectly, met them exactly where they were and inspired them to see themselves as writers with powerful voices worth hearing.

An absolute 10/10 experience. Thank you, Pep.

Nicola Beswick, English Lead, Chaselea Alternative Provision Academy, Cannock

Wow! Pep is such a kind, caring and fun poet. He visited our school and was fabulous with the children. We thoroughly enjoyed Pep joining us in our assemblies and classrooms throughout the day. Children and staff had so much fun listening to and joining in with Peps poems. What an inspiration he is.

Mrs Rebecca Westwood, Perton Academy, Wolverhampton

Pep the Poet's workshops are energetic, fun and inspiring from start to finish. Pep has a real gift for engaging young people, and every pupil was involved, from the most confident to the shyest in the room.

The sessions build a love of literacy, reading and poetry, and they leave pupils excited to write and share their own work. Pep makes poetry feel accessible and fun, and their imaginations clearly took off.

If you're looking for a workshop that sparks creativity and gets young people enthusiastic about words, I'd highly recommend getting in touch with Pep the Poet.

Pep was amazing throughout the whole process.  Booking was simple with great communication on ideas, plans and the important things. On the day the children on our trip engaged with all elements of the activity even the silly parts. It was also lovely to be able to incorporate sign language into our sessions to provide an additional teaching opportunity. Our young people still sign and talk about it now over 6 months later! Comes highly recommended.

What a wonderful day.
The children (aged 4 to 11) and staff were engaged from the moment Pep arrived on site. His warmth and passion shone through the delivery of the poetry workshop. The characters of his poems were bought to life as he read some of them out - the children were crying with laughter. He talked about what inspired his poems and this inspired the children to write their own.
I can highly recommend booking a workshop - we will be booking another in the future.

Cheryl Martin, Head of Prep, Stafford Grammar School

Pep is one of those rare people that have a natural, genuine and infectious passion for what they do. He knows how to create a ‘hook,’ maintain engagement and scaffold content to ensure all participants leave the session with something - whether that’s a deeper comprehension, a better relationship with reading/poetry or simply, had a good time. The world needs more people like him.

Pep has a real talent for connecting with children of all ages and abilities, inspiring them to see poetry in a new light and giving them the confidence to explore their own creativity. His enthusiasm, energy and passion for what he does are infectious and the impact he has on the children is wonderful to see.

I have absolutely loved working with Pep over the past year and feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to see the difference he makes in schools. I would wholeheartedly recommend him and very much hope to continue working with him in the future.
